Courtesy of my awesome and talented friends, Ines Brunn and Fede Moro at Natooke, a shop in Beijing that sells fixed-gear bikes and professional juggling equipment, I am now the proud rider of the classic Chinese bicycle, The Flying Pigeon. (Natooke also rents bicycles, sells t-shirts, filter/pollution masks, and my cds)
The Flying Pigeon is very heavy cruiser bike. Not meant for hills (which is just fine here in flat Beijing), it takes some serious thigh strength to get it going, but once it’s rolling…it cruises on like no other. It’s the equivalent of the Cadillac…heavy, low, cruisin’ and solid…my new pimp ride.
PS. Yes, everyone has baskets on their bikes (just about) because it’s practical and awesome.

Google emailed me something it found online. It’s in Chinese, but I went online & used a translator to decipher it. “Hess” is actually me, Jess. lol
The page (in Chinese)
Translation:
Hess – Ahmed singing in the song, creative and performance aspects are very talented. Hess is a virtuoso improvisation performer, jazz composer, her songs through high-quality poetic lyrics and strong melodies to bring the audience the spirit of joy. Her superb arrangement skills make her music style can be transformed into the form of different songs, songs from no electronic music accompaniment, and even trip-hop, reggae and jazz music. As long as the music performed on stage lineup permit, and she can be effortless. Her live performance is from the heart of the natural expression of joy, to perform on stage and the release of radiance passion charm, every performance is a real visual feast. If we believe that some people are born with artistic talent, then Hess must be one of those people. Hess 3 years old, her parents told her that if she wants, she can write a song. Since then, she began writing songs. Now that desire has become the creative music passion. Her songs and music to bring people through the deep thoughts and feelings. Hess liked more emphasis on expression rather than style, which made her rich and varied repertoire, joy of life abundant. Each album she bring people something new, and all the melodies are memorable.
