wow. seeing kim was incredible. the journey to her filled with goodness. she lives in a jail outside of barcelona (about 40 minutes bus ride). i was traveling with a great partner and friend of kim’s, so our vis a vis was really charged. vis a vis means we get 1.5 hours in a room with a bed, a simple bathroom with a bathtub (rugged). we jumped around screaming for a few minutes and then we hung out for  what didn’t seem long enough.

kim looks great. her life force (jing shen) is glowing in her eyes and face. she is, however, having a rough time now that she has moved out to the countryside jail. before she was in the city of barcelona. she could look out her window and see people on the streets, smell the sea when the wind was blowing, feeling the energy of the amazing city of barcelona. now, she is out in bumbfuck. nothing really in the area but trees and fields, and chemical factories. so we inspired kim to use her imagination more. we also managed to get my cds to a couple of people in the jail, including a social worker who was extremely nice and would like to help me organise a concert for the prisoners. maybe kim can play with me (like she used to in beijing!)…

we spent our first day of the year of the tiger, valentine’s day and carnival waiting in the arms of a very filled waiting hall to see kim thru the glass for 20 minutes. the wait on saturday was 7 hours, sunday for 4. both days were magical to be with her. we brought alot of goodness to the prison, the family, friends and loved ones of other prisoners, and to kim. it is good.

she is very interested in having vis-a-vis visits (these visits are appointments, so the waiting is not much) – if you are in barcelona, it is easy to get to the jail on a bus at sans plaza bus station. costs 5.90 euro for roudtrip ticket to Brians Penetentiary. she has to submit passport/name to the prison a month before the vis-a-vis

hey everyone – how are you? hope all is well. year of the ox is coming to an end. right before it ends, i will see my friend kim, who is incarcerated in barcelona. i am so amazed that 3 years has gone by since i saw her last, walking out of my apartment in beijing. she went to africa to fulfill her lifelong dream of experiencing delights of the big continent. she got tricked into carrying 5 kilos of coke into barcelona, and now she is there for another 6.5 years. it is a hard kind of news to receive in the heart. she does extremely well, cultivating meditation and yoga classes for prisoners, sharing her warmth even in such a dire situation. if you want to know more, you can visit her blog:  http://supportingkim.blogspot.com
